2024 BMW i4 Models: Electric Performance, Range, and PricingĀ

BMW continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle (EV) technology with the 2024 i4. The new model year brings a number of updates, including the addition of an all-wheel drive variant and a range increase for the base model.

The i4 xDrive40 is the new all-wheel drive option in the i4 lineup. It is powered by two electric motors that produce a combined 396 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. This allows the xDrive40 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds. The xDrive40 is also equipped with a larger battery pack than the rear-wheel drive i4, which gives it an EPA-estimated range of 307 miles.

The base rear-wheel drive i4 has also been updated for the 2024 model year. It now produces 281 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which is an increase of 11 horsepower and 14 pound-feet of torque over the previous model year. The range of the base i4 has also been increased to 256 miles.

The top-of-the-line i4 M50 remains unchanged for the 2024 model year. It is powered by two electric motors that produce a combined 536 horsepower and 586 pound-feet of torque. The M50 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and has an EPA-estimated range of 271 miles.

All i4 models are equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The i4 also comes standard with a number of driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.

The 2024 BMW i4 starts at $52,000 for the rear-wheel drive i4 eDrive35. The all-wheel drive i4 xDrive40 starts at $62,595. The top-of-the-line i4 M50 starts at $68,700.

Our Thoughts

The BMW i4 is a compelling choice for those looking for an electric vehicle with performance, range, and style. The 2024 model year updates make the i4 even more attractive, and it is sure to be a popular choice among EV buyers. Is it enough to sway Tesla Model 3 buyers?
