At the 2024 Chicago Auto Show, Kia took the wraps off the refreshed 2025 Carnival multipurpose vehicle. The updated Carnival brings a bold new look, an available turbo hybrid powertrain, and the latest tech features.
Most notably, the Carnival will now be offered with an available 1.6-liter turbo hybrid engine paired with a 54kW motor for 242 total system horsepower. This new setup aims to improve both performance and fuel economy. Unique 17-inch wheels and hybrid-specific drive modes like Smart and Eco are also part of the upgrade.
On the outside, the Carnival embraces Kia’s “Opposites United” design language with a more SUV-inspired look. The front fascia sports a large, sculpted grille flanked by intricate, high-tech headlights. Out back, a repositioned license plate housing and Star Map LED taillights clean up the design. Five trim levels will be available: LX, LXS, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. The Dark Edition also returns with blacked-out exterior elements.
Inside is an airy, tech-centric cabin dressed in premium materials. The curving panoramic cockpit display integrates two large screens for instrumentation and infotainment. An available full-color head-up display, voice recognition, and redesigned center stack further boost functionality. Seven USB ports are standard to keep devices charged.
On the connectivity front, the Carnival gains Kia’s latest ccNC navigation system with over-the-air update capability. A new dual rear entertainment system with 14.6-inch monitors enables movie streaming too. The Carnival also offers next-gen Digital Key 2.0 technology for phone-based keyless entry and starting.
For family-hauling, the 2025 Carnival sticks to its flexible 8-passenger seating layout. Sliding and fold-flat second and third row seats enable versatile cargo configurations, while retaining best-in-class cargo room behind the first row.
The 2025 Kia Carnival arrives in dealers this August 2024 with pricing around $35,000 to start. More details and options pricing will be announced closer to launch.

With its SUV-inspired design and premium, tech-laden interior, the Carnival brings both beauty and luxury to the segment. And with an available hybrid powertrain putting out 242 horsepower, Kia is bringing serious heat to compete with the Toyota Sienna. For families with younger children, sliding door is heaven!
