Acura EV SUV Is Coming In 2024

Acura has introduced its first all-electric SUVs, the ZDX and ZDX Type S, as the automaker seeks to catch up in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market after a late start compared to established players like Tesla, Chevrolet and Nissan.

The ZDX A-Spec starts at an estimated $60,000 and has an EPA-estimated range of 325 miles. The more powerful ZDX Type S, priced from an estimated $70,000, boasts an estimated 500 horsepower and an EPA range of 288 miles.

Both all-electric models come equipped with Google built-in for seamless connectivity, allowing drivers access to Google Assistant, Maps and Play while on the road. They also feature Bang & Olufsen luxury audio for an immersive driving experience with concert hall-like sound. On the safety front, AcuraWatch 360+ offers advanced driver assistance technologies including traffic jam assist, road departure mitigation and traffic sign recognition.

The ZDX A-Spec can be charged at speeds of up to 190 kW, enabling drivers to add an estimated 100 miles of charge in just 15 minutes. Both models are expected to be available in early 2024 at Acura dealerships across the country.

Acura is banking on its reputation for luxury, performance and precision craftsmanship to carve out a niche in the burgeoning EV segment with the ZDX and ZDX Type S. The automaker has partnered with Google and Bang & Olufsen to deliver a premium, tech-advanced experience on par with its gas-powered lineup.

The new electric SUVs offer an enticing combination of range, power and features. The ZDX A-Spec promises brisk acceleration and abundant range for daily commutes and weekend getaways, while the high-performance Type S offers savvy EV enthusiasts the pinnacle of sustainable sport luxury.

Whether Acura can overcome its late start and establish itself as a leader in the EV space remains to be seen. However, with electrification rapidly becoming the inevitable future of the auto industry, the ZDX and ZDX Type S mark promising first steps towards a more electric future for the Acura brand.
