BMW Group Malaysia has announced that the average price of BMW and MINI models in Malaysia will increase by roughly 2.3% and 0.3%, respectively, due to growing manufacturing costs and worldwide inflation rates.
The price rise will take effect on January 1, 2024, and will cover both MINI Service and Repair Inclusive (MSRI) and BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI). This implies that there will also be a price increase for the BSRI and MSRI packages themselves. The business stated in a release that this is necessary to preserve the calibre of BMW Group Malaysia’s warranty and maintenance programmes.
In Malaysia, the cost of BMW models will rise by 1% to 2% in the absence of the BSRI. Conversely, if the MSRI is taken out of the equation, MINI cars in Malaysia won’t see a price increase. However all MINI models in Malaysia will be subject to the previously indicated 2024 MSRI rate rise, which would result in an increase of between 0.3 and 0.5%.
In other BMW news this week, the newest, state-of-the-art Millennium Welt Seremban 2 showroom has opened for business at Millennium Welt, an approved BMW dealership in Malaysia. It is the first BMW dealership in the country to use the brand’s retail space, occupying 173,948 square feet, making it the dealership’s largest showroom outside of the Klang Valley to use the brand’s Retail.Next concept.
The new Millennium Welt Seremban 2 store will include the newest cars from the BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI, BMW Premium Selection (BPS), and MINI Used Car Next (MUCN) portfolios. It also has eight service bays, which can accommodate up to 50 service appointments every day.
The new showroom will soon have AC and DC Fast-charge (DCFC) capabilities for electric vehicles (EVs), adding to the more than 1,000 charge stations that BMW Group Malaysia now operates around the country. Additionally, during the promotional period, all BMW Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) models will come with free home charging installation, provided by ChargePoint. Millennium Welt Seremban 2 is also providing free Lumar Car Care products worth RM2,000 for every BMW and MINI new car purchase.

The price increases cannot be helped. After all, ballooning manufacturing costs and inflation are happening everywhere. So the short story is that if you want a new BMW, and want to avoid the cost rises, then you should get in before the increases take effect. As for EV charging, BMW looks set to offer one of the most advanced charging networks in the country.
