Bookings for the new Mitsubishi Xpander facelift are now being accepted, according to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia. The firm refers to the new 2024 Xpander as having a limited-time introductory pricing setup, and is projected to cost RM115,000 on the road. The new Mitsubishi is an MPV that directly competes with the likes of Toyota Veloz and Perodua Alza.
The facelifted Xpander’s dimensions are 4475 mm long, 1730 wide, 1,750 mm high, and sits on a 2,475 mm wheelbase. It has a MacPherson suspension system with a torsion beam at the back and a stabilising bar up front. Bookings for the 2024 Xpander facelift are now being accepted, according to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
Standard exterior items on the facelifted Mitsubishi Xpander include automatic LED headlamps, LED daytime-running-lights (DRLs), cornering lights, front and rear bumper finished in black, door handles finished in chrome, LED taillights and new 17-inch alloys.
The revised Xpander is front-wheel drive (FWD) only and is powered by a MIVEC 1.5 litre naturally-aspirated engine generating 104 hp and 141 Nm of torque, with power transferred by a four-speed automatic.
Inside, the facelifted Mitsubishi Xpander comes equipped with features including fabric upholstery, push-start button, a 4.2-inch colour multi-info display, eco-drive assist with score indicator, 4 USB ports, digital auto-climate control, rear air-con with individual vents, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, 9-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 6-speakers audio system, leather upholstery and a new wireless charger.
Meanwhile, in terms of safety, the facelifted Xpander comes standard with electronic parking brake (EPB), auto-hold brake, rest reminder, Hill Start Assist (HSA), new Emergency Stop Signal System (ESSS), reverse camera, and a 360-degree camera.
To recap, the facelifted Xpander is open for bookings with an estimated price of RM115,000 on the road, not including insurance. Further updates on the price and variants will be available upon launch.
CARLIST THOUGHTS
In terms of design, it certainly borrows styling hints from the Outlander regarding the headlights and grille. It sounds like the new Xpander will land in showrooms boasting advanced features that will put it in good stead with rivals like the Perodua Alza. The petrol-powered SUV comes with loads of the latest tech including Apple and Android connectivity, a heap of safety features, and a reasonable price tag.
