American Honda revealed last week that it will sponsor a daytime New Year’s Eve musical event at independent Nashville venue Anzie Blue, featuring a genre-spanning lineup headlined by platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated singer and actor Chris Isaak.

The celebration will stream live on Wednesday, December 31, from 2 to 8 p.m. ET / 1 to 7 p.m. CT, to a global audience on CNN.com, with select performances, including Isaak’s, airing live on CNN as part of its planned daytime coverage of New Year’s Eve from cities around the world.

Grammy-winning producer and musician John Carter Cash and his wife, acclaimed singer-songwriter Ana Cristina Cash, are slated to perform “Ring of Fire” in tribute to John’s father, the legendary Johnny Cash. Additional performers and special appearances include Grammy-nominated songwriter Pynk Beard, who will also serve as host of the livestream; pop-punk powerhouse Taylor Acorn; music therapist turned Artist-activist Kyshona; and country artists Julia Cole and Alyssa Flaherty.

“Get ready for an ‘only in Nashville’ NYE party with a diverse lineup of artists representing the very best of Music City,” said Anzie Blue co-owner Marcie Allen. “We’re thrilled to team up with Honda Powersports and Visit Music City to showcase Nashville’s finest right here on the Anzie Blue stage to music fans worldwide.”

“Honda Powersports is proud to partner with Anzie Blue for this year’s New Year’s celebration, a moment that reflects the energy and creative spirit that define Music City,” said Jeremy McGuire, Director of Powersports & Products Marketing for American Honda. “Honda believes deeply in the artists and communities that shape Nashville, and we look forward to continuing to champion the storytellers and creatives who move culture forward.”

Also among the artists scheduled to perform at the event is Nashville-based, two-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Maggie Rose, who is collaborating with Honda on a series of marketing activities centered around the brand’s powersports products.

“Creativity doesn’t just happen in a studio or on a stage, it often comes when you step outside and give yourself space to breathe,” Rose said. “For me, getting outdoors and unplugging is a way to reset and reconnect with who I am and why I make music. Honda understands that balance between movement, freedom, and focus, and I love partnering with a brand that supports artists not just in how we perform, but in how we live and recharge.”

CARLIST THOUGHTS

A live concert broadcast on CNN on New Year’s Eve is an obvious winning combination as the artists are guaranteed of a huge global audience. The only issue might be this—just how many people know of Chris Isaak and Maggie Rose? Of course we all know of Johnny Cash, so his son performing his dad’s legendary hit will be a bonus. But as for the other artists, well, how many do you know?
