The Jaecoo J6 EV has finally debuted with reservations being accepted in Thailand. The pricing of the electric SUV, which is available in two variants—the Long Range 2WD and the Long Range 4WD—is 1,099,000 baht (about RM139k) and 1,249,000 baht (about RM158k), respectively. It is anticipated that deliveries will start later this year.
The car, battery, and electric powertrain are all covered by an expanded 8-year/200,000-kilometer warranty for early adopters of the first 1,000 units. Furthermore, these clients will also receive a free Garmin Forerunner 165 watch. If deliveries are finished by November 30, all Thai J6 buyers will be eligible for five years of roadside support, a home charging device with installation, and a year of free insurance.
With a wheelbase of 2,715 mm and dimensions of 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, this small SUV has a boxy appearance. The Jaecoo J6 has two different external styles. The Jaecoo logo variant, which has a special 40-liter rear storage box integrated into the sideways-opening tailboard, will be available in Thailand.
There are two powerplant choices for the J6. With a single electric motor generating 181 horsepower and 220 Nm, the rear-wheel drive (RWD) model is powered by a 65.69 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The J6 can reach 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds from a standstill, and its maximum speed is 150 km/h. With this setup, the WLTP range is 371 km.
With the addition of a second electric motor, the 4-wheel drive (4WD) variant’s total system output rises to 275 horsepower (metric) and 385 Nm, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km/h. Because of its higher power output, the J6 AWD has a lesser range of 364 km (WLTP) even with the larger 69.77 kWh battery. Both versions are capable of handling maximum AC charging rates of 6.6 kW and maximum DC charging rates of 80 kW when it comes to charging. Additionally, there is a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature that has a maximum power output of 3.3 kW.
Both versions have the following features as standard on the outside: powered tailgate, NFC keyless entry, acoustic glass, panoramic sunroof, 18-inch wheels with the option to upgrade to 19-inch rims, LED daytime running lights (DRL), LED tail lights and matrix adaptive headlights.

The J6 looks the business and offers a superb combination of interior quality, range and sufficient charging tech. And with a price hovering around RM139K we think this Jaecoo could impact on EV sales significantly.
