The updated Model 3 Highland is rumored to have a Performance version coming in early 2024. There are two versions available today: rear-wheel drive and long range; although neither of these are available in the U.S. just yet.
We expect Tesla to offer more discounts in the U.S. on older models to make room for the Model 3 Highland. We expect the Highland to be available in the next several weeks in the States.
A Performance model makes sense because:
- With bigger brakes, better tires, and track suspension, the Model 3 is a beast. Check out what Unplugged Performance has done for example. The current Model 3 Performance sprints from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.
- We believe the Highland Performance version to be even faster off the line than the current 3.1 seconds 0-60 mph time.
- All those performance upgrades will bring huge profit margins for Tesla.
While the rumored 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance version promises jaw-dropping acceleration, don’t expect it to beat the flagship Model S Plaid’s sub-2 second 0-60 times
