At Zeekr’s launch last week of its X and 009 models, Malaysian distributor Sentinel Automotive announced that China’s Geely premium electric sub-brand will debut a new model, the Zeekr 7X, in 2025.
With dimensions of 4,825 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, 1,725 mm in height, and a 2,925 mm wheelbase, the 7X is positioned as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y.
With its sleek lines and futuristic appearance, the exterior perfectly captures Zeekr’s “Hidden Energy” design concept. The front employs an interactive LCD display, and the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are enhanced with a LIDAR sensor positioned on the roof.
The cockpit features a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment display driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 CPU. Powered rear seats with movable leg rests, three-zone automated climate control, and vented front seats with massage function are also available. These features may change when the Zeekr 7X debuts in Malaysia in 2025, as they are based on the China-spec vehicle.
Based on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA3), which also underpins the Zeekr 007 and Smart #5, the 7X however sits on the PMA2+ platform. It will come with two battery options— a 75 kWh and 100 kWh, and both support 800V architecture.
The 7X comes in three different versions in its native China— 75 kWh RWD, 100 kWh RWD, and 100 kWh AWD. A single motor on the rear axle of the 75 kWh RWD generates 421 horsepower and 440 Nm, which translates to a 5.8-second 0-100 km/h sprint time and a 605 km CLTC-rated range (which corresponds to around 500 kms in the real world). Meanwhile the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% DC in fifteen minutes.
With a larger battery pack and the same electric motor, the 100kWh RWD version offers a longer range of up to 780 km (CLTC)—more like 650km in the real world. Additionally, this type is slightly faster than the 75 kWh RWD variant, reaching 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
In contrast, the 100 kWh AWD version comes with a 100 kWh battery pack from CATL that has a 705 km range (CLTC). With 646 horsepower and 710 Nm, its dual-electric motor setup can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. And it just takes 10 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% using DC charging.
The “Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0” ADAS system, which is powered by two Nvidia Orin X chips (508 TOPS), provides the Zeekr 7X’s safety features and provides some degree of self-driving potential.

When the Zeekr 7X arrives in Malaysia in 2025, it looks ready to take on the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7 thanks to its combination rather good-looking design and interior appointments. Stay tuned for the car’s price as soon as we know it.
