The Vietnamese automaker announced Tuesday that it will initially work with dealers in New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Kansas to sell its all-electric VF 8 SUV model. Additional models, including the VF 6, VF 7, and VF 9, will be added over time.

The first VinFast U.S. dealers are Leith VinFast in Raleigh, North Carolina; Smith Haven VinFast in St. James, New York; Principle VinFast Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas; Hiley VinFast of Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas and VinFast Wichita in Wichita, Kansas.

“This is an important step affirming VinFast’s commitment to expanding its retail sales network and shortening the time to deliver our products to market,” said Tran Mai Hoa, VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing.

As part of the dealer partnerships, VinFast customers will be eligible for a 10-year, 125,000-mile vehicle warranty and a 10-year unlimited mileage battery warranty for non-commercial use.

Danny Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Leith Automotive Group, said his team was “captivated by the [VinFast] brand” after test drives and meetings. Leith, based in Raleigh, will be the first VinFast dealer in North Carolina.

VinFast has ambitious U.S. expansion plans in place, with a goal of eventually operating 125 dealerships nationwide. The company currently runs 13 stores and service centers in California.

Founded in 2017 under Vingroup, VinFast already operates a highly automated manufacturing facility in Vietnam. The automaker envisions itself at the forefront of the “global smart electric vehicle revolution,” according to executives.
