Tesla Launches Model 3 Highland in USA Today

Yesterday when i wrote “Tesla Gearing Up for Imminent Model 3 Highland Launch in USA”, I was thinking it will be days away, but in classic Tesla fashion they surprised us all by opening orders today without notice.

Tesla has just opened orders for the hotly anticipated Model 3 Highland in the United States. The new rear-wheel drive Model 3 Highland offers a 272 mile range and 5.8 second 0-60 mph time for just $38,990.

For those seeking more performance, the Model 3 Highland Long Range boosts the range to 341 miles (up from 333 miles on the previous version) and cuts the 0-60 mph time down to 4.2 seconds. However, expect to pay $45,990 for the additional driving range and faster acceleration.

Thrifty buyers can still get the prior Model 3 Long Range version for only $35,090 for a limited time, according to Tesla’s inventory list. So if you don’t need the extra miles or latest and greatest, last year’s model is still an appealing option.

The newly launched Model 3 Highland represents Tesla’s latest effort to offer more affordable and efficient electric vehicles to US customers. With its updated interior and exterior, the Model 3 Highland sets a new standard for EV value in Tesla’s continuously improving lineup.

Potential customers can already configure their brand new Model 3 Highland on Tesla’s website and place orders. Deliveries of the rear-wheel drive variant and Long Range model are expected no later than February.
