Chinese automaker BYD announced it has produced its 6 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV). NEVs include hybrid electrics and all-battery electric vehicles.
The milestone comes just three months after BYD manufactured its 5 millionth NEV in August.
BYD’s model lineup includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, FANGCHENGBAO, DENZA and Yangwang brands. The company set a monthly sales record in October, selling more than 300,000 NEVs.
BYD is expanding globally through exports and local production. The company continues to lead advancements in NEV technology, including its Blade Battery.
In comparison, U.S.-based Tesla announced in September that it had produced its 5 millionth electric vehicle earlier that week. Tesla reached the 4 million production milestone in March.
