Hyundai Unveils 2024 Kona Electric: More Range, Space & Tech Starting at $32,675

Hyundai recently announced details and pricing for the 2024 Kona Electric, the second generation of its popular electric crossover. The new Kona Electric gets major upgrades all around, including more range, faster charging, a more spacious interior, and new high-tech features.

The most notable improvement is the increase in EPA-estimated range, now up to 261 miles on a single charge. This puts the Kona Electric near the top of the affordable EV class for range. Faster charging capabilities also allow the battery to recharge quicker when using DC fast charging stations.

On the inside, rear legroom has grown by 3 inches and cargo capacity is up by 33 percent compared to the previous model. This gives the Kona Electric best-in-class passenger and cargo volume for a small crossover SUV. The cabin also gets a major tech upgrade with a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen display.

Exclusive to the Electric models are pixel design elements on the front and rear fascias along with unique LED daytime running lights. Owners will also appreciate new tech features like standard Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Over-The-Air software updates, available Digital Key and hands-free Smart Liftgate, ventilated front seats, and in-vehicle payment through Hyundai Pay.

All Kona Electrics also come equipped with the latest Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance and safety features including Junction Turning capabilities for the Forward Collision Avoidance system. Available advanced systems like Surround View Monitor further improve safety and convenience.

The 2024 Kona Electric starts at an MSRP of $32,675, making it one of the most affordable EVs on the market. With up to 261 miles of EPA-estimated range, increased passenger and cargo volume, an upgraded high-tech cabin, and vibrant color options, the new Kona Electric raises the bar for value in an electric crossover.
