Meet the 2025 Kia K4: A Compact Sedan with Big Ambitions

Kia is shaking up the compact sedan segment with the global debut of the all-new 2025 K4 at the 2024 New York International Auto Show. As Kia’s fourth-generation compact sedan, the K4 delivers class-leading rear legroom and headroom, along with segment-above tech and an available turbocharged engine option.

“The K4 overdelivers on the features compact sedan buyers want with its advanced tech, refined driving experience, and spacious interior,” said Steven Center, COO and EVP of Kia America.

Tech-Laden Interior with Nearly 30″ Digital Cockpit

The K4 sets new standards for connectivity with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An available nearly 30-inch combined digital instrument and infotainment display enables camera-fed surround views.

Other upscale available features include Digital Key 2.0 with Ultra Wideband, Harman Kardon premium audio, heated and ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Its cabin targets best-in-class quietness aided by an acoustic windshield.

Bold, Wide Stance Exterior Design

Drawing inspiration from Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, the K4’s athletic proportions create a powerful, dynamic look. It has the largest footprint in the compact class at 185.4 inches long and 72.8 inches wide.

The K4 GTLine and GTLine Turbo models add sporty exterior touches like gloss black accents, LED lighting accents, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Two Punchy Engine Options

Under the hood, the K4 offers a standard 147-hp 2.0L engine with an IVT or an optional turbocharged 190-hp 1.6L four-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic. GTLine models get a multi-link rear suspension for sharper handling.

Comprehensive Safety Suite with Up to 29 ADAS Features

The K4 comes standard with 11 ADAS features like Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Smart Cruise Control. Available advanced tech includes BlindSpot View Monitor, 360° Surround View Monitor and segment-exclusive Emergency Evasive Steering Assist.

It will arrive at Kia retailers in five trim levels – LX, LXS, EX, GTLine and GTLine Turbo – during the second half of 2024. Pricing details will be announced closer to launch. The all-new compact sedan elevates the segment with its striking design, premium amenities and engaging driving dynamics.

Carlist Thoughts

Kia has been designing some of the most stylish and eye-catching vehicles on the market, regardless of price point. While the all-new 2025 K4 compact sedan isn’t a hybrid or electric vehicle, it gives buyers a compelling choice with its bold styling, premium features, and punchy engine options. By offering both gas-powered and electrified models across its lineup, Kia allows customers to vote with their wallets for the powertrain that best suits their needs and preferences.
