Microlino: The Tiny Electric Car Taking On Urban Mobility

With its distinct retro-futuristic look, the Swiss-designed Microlino is turning heads and attracting buyers seeking a tiny electric urban runabout. Despite an exterior length of just 2.4 meters—even shorter than a Smart Fortwo—the featherweight Microlino can still fit two people and accommodate 230 liters of cargo space.

The Microlino keeps things simple but clever. The single front door provides curbside access to both seats and the cargo area lies behind a tailgate. Open the electric sunroof and the open-air feeling is complete. It’s maneuverable too – its tiny footprint allows easy perpendicular parking to save on space. Very quirky.

Weighing in at just 496kg, Microlino offers zippy performance from its 12.5kW motor while keeping efficiency high. Depending on the battery size, estimated maximum range is 228km from respective 15kWh battery pack. With a top speed of 90km/h and 89Nm of torque on tap, the urban-friendly Microlino can “zip” through city streets.

For city dwellers who want electric, compact, cheerful transportation with style, the Microlino starts at €17,990 ($19,918).
