Porsche Electric Macan SUV is Coming: Everything You Need to Know

Porsche has officially announced the launch date of the highly anticipated all-electric Macan SUV on January 25th, 2024. The next-generation Macan represents Porsche’s first model built on its new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture and ushers in a new era of electric performance SUVs from the iconic German automaker.

Designed from the Ground Up as an EV

As the prototype enters final testing stages, Porsche reveals that the electric Macan is an entirely new development with meticulous attention to aerodynamics, efficiency, driving dynamics and rapid charging capabilities.

With a drag coefficient of 0.25 Cd, it will be one of the most aerodynamic SUVs on the market thanks to active aerodynamic elements and a slippery, tapered profile. Combined with a floor-mounted 100 kWh battery pack, Porsche expects WLTP ranges beyond 500 km (310 miles), translating to roughly 250 miles EPA.

800-Volt Architecture Enables 270 kW Ultra-Fast Charging

Leveraging an 800-volt electrical architecture first introduced on the Taycan, the electric Macan will support charging rates up to 270 kW, allowing drivers to charge from 10% to 80% in under 22 minutes. This future-proofed battery technology ensures the electric SUV will remain competitive as charging networks continue expanding globally.

Signature Porsche Driving Experience

Porsche promises the electric Macan will stay true to the model’s sports car character and driving enjoyment. Power outputs over 450 kW (~600 hp), AWD torque vectoring, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and a rear axle steering system delivering up to 5-degrees of angle aim to set new dynamics benchmarks in the luxury EV segment. Expect 0-60mph time around 3.5 sec.

The launch of the 2024 Porsche Macan EV marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand’s popular luxury SUV, setting benchmarks in design, technology, dynamics and sustainable mobility. Expected price: $80,000.
