Porsche Launches All-Electric 2024 Macan SUV in USA: Everything You Need to Know

Stuttgart-based automaker Porsche has revealed the 2024 Macan electric SUV for the US market, marking the brand’s second all-electric model after the Taycan sedan. The new Macan EV promises sports car-like performance, robust real-world driving range, and rapid charging capacity.

Pricing and Driving Range
The Macan 4 base model is priced at $78,800 USD plus a $1,650 delivery fee. Meanwhile, the high-performance Macan Turbo starts at $105,300 before delivery. Official EPA estimated driving range will be announced closer to the start of customer deliveries.

Performance and Charging Specs
With a dual-motor AWD powertrain, the 402hp Macan 4 accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds. The flagship 630hp Macan Turbo reaches 60mph in just 3.1 seconds thanks to Launch Control, on its way to a 161mph top speed.

The 800V battery architecture enables 270kW charging to take the battery from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes where compatible. It also supports versatile 135kW and 11kW charging.

Handling and Design
Porsche focused on maintaining the Macan’s agile driving dynamics in the electric model. Features like standard air suspension, available rear-axle steering, and ePTM lightning-fast torque vectoring aim to make this the most fun-to-drive electric compact SUV.

The new Macan adopts a timeless and progressive design with sporty proportions. It promises to remain among the most aerodynamic and practical options in its luxury EV segment.

Now Available to Order
The 2024 Porsche Macan 4 and Turbo electric SUV is available to order now at Porsche dealers nationwide, with first deliveries scheduled in the US for the second half of 2024.

Our Thoughts

With its first electric SUV, Porsche takes direct aim at the Tesla Model Y with the new Macan EV. However, the Macan plays in a completely different league when it comes to pricing and luxury appointments compared to the Model Y. No doubt shoppers will cross shop this with the Tesla Model Y Performance, though the Porsche promises to far surpass it for interior luxury and brand cachet.
