VinFast’s New Electric Pickup Truck Concept Targets Booming EV Truck Market

VinFast, Vietnam’s electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled an exciting new concept for their first electric pickup truck – the VF Wild. This mid-size truck combines practical utility with an eye-catching design.

With a total length of 209 inches putting it in competition with trucks like the Rivian R1T, the VF Wild features a power-folding mid-gate that expands the bed length from 5 to 8 feet. This gives it the largest bed in its segment for extra hauling capability.

The concept was jointly developed between VinFast and Australian design studio Gomitiv. Tran Mai Hoa, VinFast’s Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing, said “We are proud to introduce the VF Wild concept and showcase our aspiration to enter the thriving electric pickup market with sustainable, quality EVs made accessible to more buyers.”

VinFast is moving fast, as it was just over a year ago they launched their first EV crossover – the VF 8. The VF Wild concept shows their ambition to expand in the EV space across multiple vehicle types. With the hot market for electric trucks in America and globally, the production version of this concept could arrive at an opportune time. No pricing was unveiled yet. But if it drives as well as it looks, it should sells very well.
