New Limited Edition Toyota Yaris Arrives In Malaysia

Toyota has just launched a new limited edition variant of the Yaris called the ‘G Limited’ in Malaysia. Supplied by UMW Toyota and limited to 600 units, the special edition hatchback is priced at RM99,600.

The Yaris G Limited in Malaysia is purportedly designed for Generation Z drivers and comes with a more aggressive aero package with red highlights and “G Limited” logos all over the vehicle. Additionally, it is available in two new exterior colour options: Platinum White Pearl and Red Mica Metallic.

For those looking to get into this new Yaris, the Malaysian-spec model comes with standard exterior equipment including an aero kit with red highlights, “G Limited” emblems and five colors altogether.

The Yaris G Limited is fitted with performance components to enhance its handling and these include performance-oriented shock absorbers, which are more rigid than those in the standard Yaris to lessen body toll, and a chassis brace, which stiffens the car for improved stability.

In addition, Toyota has increased the pedal input-to-output ratio by adding a throttle controller. Toyota claims that it leads to improved acceleration as well as improved engine response. In spite of this, the 1.5-litre inline-4 engine, mated to a CVT, powers the Yaris G Limited with the same 107 hp and 140 Nm as the standard Yaris.

The Yaris G Limited’s interior is virtually identical to that of its sibling. The hatchback is still equipped with features including a wireless mobile charger, a 9-inch head unit display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, one USB-A connector up front, and two USB-C outlets at the back, and a front-driving video recorder (DVR) is also included as standard equipment.

In terms of safety, the Malaysian Yaris G Limited is equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense suite, which includes lane departure alert (LDA) and pre-collision braking (PCB). A 3D panoramic vision monitor, a blind sport monitor (BSM) with rear cross-traffic warning (RCTA), and hill start assist control (HAC) are additional safety features.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

The Yaris is a hugely popular model in Toyota’s lineup, not least because its famous for winning multiple victories and elevating the brand’s presence in the World Rally Championships. This limited edition, with its bespoke components and enhanced handling, will no doubt sell like hotcakes—so get your order in soon.
