Packing More Power, Aston’s New Vantage Lands In Malaysia

Malaysia has a new Aston! Just introduced by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, the new Vantage is now in Malaysia. Before options and modification, it is yours for RM 2,370,000.

The new luxury grand tourer is basically a revised version of the AM6 Aston Martin Vantage V8 that first appeared back in 2018. While aesthetic aspects get a tweak, the performance side does too.

The Aston Martin Vantage in Malaysia comes with standard exterior features like LED taillights, matrix LED headlights, a steel brake system and dark grey anodised brake calipers, and a set of 21-inch Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres designed specifically for AML. On the exterior, there are flush door handles as well.

The hand-built, front mid-mounted, 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine, which the British automaker claims has undergone extensive revision, powers the Vantage in Malaysia. Its rear-drive powertrain generates 665 horsepower and 800 Nm and is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. That makes it 155 horsepower and 115 Nm more potent than the previous version which enables the car to jump from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed or 325 km/h.

A ten-stage adjustable electric rear differential, or E-diff, is another feature of the grand tourer. On the predecessor, customers could only switch the feature on or off.

Inside the new Vantage in Malaysia, you get standard appointments including a heated 8-way adjustable Sports Plus seat, a sports steering wheel, and a 390 W 11-speaker Aston Martin Audio sound system. A 360-degree 3D surround camera view is also included as standard.

As you’d expect the Aston boasts the latest safety tech including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with forward collision warning (FCW), adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Stop & Go function, lane keep assist (LKA), and rear cross-traffic assist (RCTA).

Included with the Vantage’s sticker price is a 3-year warranty while buyers can choose to stretch it out to 20 years of coverage.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

James Bond fans, look out. Here is your new charger. This Vantage doesn’t just look more stylish (as if its predecessor did not already!) thanks to some strategic exterior tweaks, but it gets a gutsier powerplant and a revised interior to boot. And with an extendable warranty—up to 20 years!—it’s a luxury grand tourer for the discerning buyer who will need a healthy bank balance to secure one of these beauties.
