New BMW M4 Competition Coupe Goes On Sale In Malaysia

Boasting a suggested retail price of RM918,600, BMW Malaysia has officially launched the updated BMW M4 Competition Coupé. As part of the BMW Service & Repair package, the cost includes a five-year extended warranty and service package. However, buyers can also choose to pay RM870,000 for the basic two-year warranty.

The M4 Competition Coupé has staggered wheel alignment (19-inch front, 20-inch rear), M-specific design components, and new LED headlights with high-beam assist. M Sport brakes with red calipers, a carbon fibre roof, and laser LED taillights further improve the vehicle. For those who prefer an even more aggressive look, optional M Performance parts are offered including a carbon rear wing, titanium silencer, and carbon rear diffuser.

Powering the M4 Competition Coupé is the 3.0-liter inline-6 TwinPower Turbo engine packing 530 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. Gaining 20 horsepower over its predecessor, power is distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automated transmission (AWD). The M4 Competition Coupé can complete a zero to 100 km/h sprint time of 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km/h.

The interior of the M4 Competition Coupé features M Sport seats that can be adjusted electronically in 3 combinations — Black, Silverstone/Black, Yas Marina Blue/Black, or Kyalami Orange/Black.

High-end materials, like carbon fibre trim, and cutting-edge technologies, like keyless entry, automated dimming of the rearview mirror, and ambient lighting, further improve the interior. The BMW Curved Display, which combines a 14.9-inch central touchscreen with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, has also been updated to the latest version of the BMW 8.5 Operating System.

The entire range of BMW’s Driving Assistant package, which includes features like Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention (Autonomous Emergency Braking), Parking Assistant plus, Reversing Assistant, and Active Cruise Control with a stop-and-go function, is standard equipment on the M4 Competition Coupé.

The BMW M4 Competition Coupé is priced at RM918,600 on the road, without insurance, and inclusive of the BMW Service & Repair which consists of the 5-year extended warranty and service package. New owners will also get access to the BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline, and a BMW Service Online.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

This is a tough car to argue with. Either you love it or you hate it. The M4 Coupe comes with a superb 530hp twin turbo engine that jumps to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Obviously the neck of this coupe must be its price — at RM918,600, its not a cheap car but what you get for your money is quite significant.
