New Zeekr X Debuts In Malaysia With 440 km Range

Zeekr has been on our radar for over a year now, and folks, the Zeekr X is finally here. For motorists looking for a stylish electric crossover in Malaysia, the X offers superb packaging in the Premium RWD spec, which costs RM155,800, and the Flagship AWD, which costs RM172,800.

The Premium RWD has a range of up to 440 km, while the AWD can cover up to 420 km, with both versions boasting 66kWh battery packs.

While the AWD can accept up to 11 kW of AC charging, the Premium RWD can only handle 7 kW. It takes seven hours to fully charge with 11 kW AC charging, but if you use the 150 kW DC charging capacity, it takes just 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

The twin-motor AWD model jumps from 0-100 in 3.8 seconds

With 272 horsepower and 343 Nm, the Premium RWD can jump from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The more potent twin motor AWD flagship packs 428 horsepower and 543 Nm, and can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, which is comparable to that of a supercar. Both the RWD and AWD versions have a top speed of 190 km/h.

The wheels are the main distinction between RWD and AWD with the latter featuring 19-inch wheels, while the RWD has 18-inch wheels. The car’s Intelligent B-Pillar, which shows animated visuals and charging status, is also included with the AWD. The Zeekr X’s headlights are mounted on the bumpers, and the bug-eye-shaped lights on top serve as running lights during the day.

The two-tone interior features a large 14.6 infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 50 watt wireless charger, 360-degree display, 6-way powered driver seat, augmented head’s-up display (AR-HUD), 13-speaker Yamaha sound system. It also gets the full safety suite of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features comprised of a five cameras and five radar setup including adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic lane change (ALC), lane centering control (LCC), lane keeping assist (LKA).

A five-year/150,000-kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000-kilometre battery warranty are included in the price of every purchase. Additionally, the Zeekr 009 comes with two years of free connected services, including 6GB of internet data per month for onboard navigation, the Zeekr Connected Companion app, and ongoing system updates over the air.

The first 500 users will also receive a complimentary RM8,000 AC home charger, a three-pin portable charger cable, solar window film, and a sunshade for the panoramic glass roof as part of the launch festivities.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

This is one of the better-looking EVs to come from China. And with a range of 440 km, competitive quick charging and a price tag starting at RM155,000, the Zeekr will definitely challenge the established rivals including the Tesla Model Y, BYD Atto 3 and the BMW iX3 among others.
