New Peugeot e-3008 Revealed At KLIMS, Debut Imminent In Malaysia 

Peugeot’s all-new electric e-3008 is slated to debut in Malaysia after its timely KLIMN reveal.  Just unveiled at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2024 in its electric vehicle (EV) configuration, the car’s presence here is to gauge buyers’ interest. And if we are reading the market correctly we think we will see the car in showrooms soon.

The e-3008 comes in three different models and is based on the Stellantis STLA Medium vehicle platform worldwide. This model is a 2WD vehicle with a single front axle motor that produces 213 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque, boasting range of up to 525 km from a 73 kWh battery.

Subsequently, there is a long-range version of the base trim with 231 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque, which can go up to 700 kilometres thanks to a larger 98 kWh battery. Although, logic of EVs tells us that a range of perhaps 600km is more like it in the real world.

Last but not least is a dual-motor, AWD setup with 326 horsepower and a 73 kWh battery, which should provide a claimed 525 km of range.

The e-3008 can charge from 20-80% in 30 minutes

The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes using a 160 kW DC fast charger. Additionally, there is a built-in 11 kW AC charger with a 22 kW AC charger upgrade option.

Peugeot introduced the GT version at KLIMS, which includes a 21-inch curved touchscreen and the Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit. Additionally, there is a set of touch-sensitive buttons that the driver can customise to access up to ten frequently used features which can include navigation, air conditioning, and music.

While the ADAS capabilities include the standard adaptive cruise control with lane change, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and mitigation, and long-range blind spot monitoring, it also boasts traction control for snow, mud, and sand.

Be aware folks that Stellantis Malaysia may introduce more traditional petrol or hybrid powertrains for the all-new 3008, such as a 1.6-litre PHEV petrol powerplant or a 1.2-liter PureTech mild-hybrid inline-three, even if this electric version is now on exhibit.
