Limited Edition Mitsubishi Xpander Boasting Upgrades Launched In Malaysia

A 200-unit limited edition model of the Mitsubishi Xpander has just been released by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), and each one comes with extra dealer-optional equipment. Based on the base model, the “upgraded” Mitsubishi Xpander costs RM104,980, which is RM5,000 more than the base model.

These accessorised tweaks, which include some of the creature comfort features of the Plus variety but at a reduced starting price, “strike the perfect balance between style, functionality, and affordability,” according to the company.

Xpander gets 360-degree view monitor

One of the safety-focused elements of MMM’s most recent offering is the All-Round Monitor (ARM), which offers a complete 360-degree view of the Mitsubishi Xpander’s surroundings. The package also includes a dashcam, which is a driving video recorder that records both the front and back.

The leatherette upholstery has been added to the cloth seats inside for a touch of elegance. The limited edition “upgraded” Xpanders are only available in one colour, Red Metallic, so if you’re hoping it will also stand out from the outside, you’re in luck.

Other than these upgrades, the crossover is still the same, powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces a modest 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque and is mated to a 4-speed automated gearbox.

A nine-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 17-inch alloys, and automatic LED headlights with daytime running lights are other standard features.

Last year, the facelifted Mitsubishi Xpander was introduced in Malaysia. Read our in-depth launch coverage here to find out more:

CARLIST THOUGHTS

While this stylish crossover looks good on the road as it inherits the full scope of Mitsubishi’s current design philosophy, especially around the grille and headlight region, it rather surprisingly comes to market with a modest powertrain that’s mated with a 4-speed auto gearbox—something we haven’t seen in a modern car for over a decade. But if that doesn’t phase you then the price will impress you.
