One-Off Genesis GV60 EV Is Stranded Mountaineer Saviour

If you thought the just-revealed Audi Q6 e-tron off-road concept is outrageous, Genesis has gone one better than its German rival by putting the already unique, attention-grabbing rescue GV60 coupé with caterpillar tracks to produce a totally wild mountain rescue vehicle concept.

The Genesis GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle, or GV60 MIV for short, is a multi-purpose off-road vehicle that can “perform reconnaissance and rescue support missions especially in rough terrain and bad weather”.

The huge carbon fibre wheelarch extensions are intended to limit vehicle damage, and the caterpillar tracks should easily handle anything the Alps can throw at them. In addition, the GV60 MIV has additional lights, towing eyes, and metal skid plates on the front and back.

The GV60 MIV was designed with maximum safety in mind given that it is a rescue vehicle. It has enhanced seats, emergency communication systems, medical supplies, and other critical equipment. Additionally, there is a roof rack for additional equipment if necessary.

Although an electric vehicle might not seem like the best option for navigating difficult terrain, the GV60’s e-motor’s immediate torque and acceleration could be useful in challenging circumstances. Additionally, the GV60 MIV’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capability enables it to use its sizable main battery to power rescue apparatus.

The Genesis GV60 MIV was constructed to be on exhibit at the World Economic Forum’s host hotel, the Ameron Hotel in Davos, Switzerland.

This is the third time the Korean brand has presented an attention-grabbing concept at the event having brought the Genesis X coupé concept in 2023 and the X Snow Speedium concept last year.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

The facelifted Genesis GV60 has been unveiled and is expected to go on sale in the upcoming months, but we don’t anticipate seeing the GV60 MIV rescuing trapped skiers on the slopes anytime soon.
