The 2025 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro e+ made its debut at the Malaysia Auto Show and was later shown off at a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), this time sporting a facelift. The upgraded model has a number of cosmetic and internal modifications.
The car on exhibit has a whole new front-end look with updated headlights and new pop-up door handles; to say it has a facelift would be an understatement. The interior of the car has been entirely redesigned in comparison to the model that was first displayed at the Malaysia Auto Show. It now features a new central console design and two screens, which are probably for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. To be honest, this SUV employs definitive lines from other models including Audi and Toyota—mainly the RAV4!
The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the Tiggo 8 Pro e+, which generates 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque when mated to a dedicated hybrid gearbox (DHT), is the same engine found in the Omoda 5. Together, these components provide an incredible 326 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque.
This car has nine driving modes. They allow drivers to choose between pure electric driving, maximising fuel efficiency, or combining both power sources for maximum performance, thus adapting the hybrid system to different needs and optimising energy usage in different conditions.
Chery Malaysia hasn’t revealed the Tiggo 8 Pro e+’s official launch date, but the device’s recent MITI day preview clearly implies that it will arrive in Malaysia soon.
