BMW 520i M Sport Debuts In Malaysia From RM376,000

According to a recent announcement by BMW Group Malaysia, the 520i M Sport, a new version of the G60 BMW 5 Series, will soon be available in the country. This new variation, which was released with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive at a price of RM376,700, gives the current 520i the “M Sport” treatment.

It basically morphs the 520i’s appearance by adding larger wheels, more defined bumpers, and a darker external trim package. The car’s front fenders are adorned with M Sport insignia while the signature kidney grille’s Iconic Glow accent is a feature that the 520i M Sport shares with the standard 520i.

The 520i M Sport has additional interior appointments such as an M headliner, a M leather steering wheel, and dark silver M accents paired with aluminium rhombicle trims. The standard curved display and interaction bar are also included with the M Sport, just like they are with the ordinary 520i. At the very least, the specification papers mention that the 520i M Sport has a BMW Drive Recorder, a Remote 3D view, and an augmented view feature.

The car is powered by the well-known 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine, which receives mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) support. The combined maximum power output of the MHEV powertrain is 208 horsepower at 4,400–6,500 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1,500–4,400 rpm. The 8-speed automatic Steptronic Sport gearbox delivers power to the rear wheels allowing the powertrain to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

The Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Plus packages are included in the safety features of the 520i M Sport.

The former has features including steering and lane control assistant, lane departure with lane return, front collision warning with pedestrian alert, Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, and speed limit information.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

This one is hard to fault. Apart from looking as good as it does, the 520i M is kind of a standard in the world of sports sedans as it packs a high-tech engine that employs a turbocharged 2L setup with a hybrid unit for maximum mileage. And that price makes it competitive especially when compared to Audi and MB.
