BMW 530i M Sport Headed For Malaysian Showrooms

BMW Malaysia has just revealed the 530i M Sport version, the second internal combustion engine variant of the BMW 5 Series to be locally manufactured (CKD). The M Sport is expected to start from around RM400,000 in Malaysia.

530i M Sport

The sedan looks almost identical to the 520i M Sport, but it also dons the M Sport bodykit with more aggressive front and rear bumper designs. On the other hand, the 530i M Sport has larger 20-inch M light alloy wheels with a complex multi-spoke design.

Standard exterior equipment of the 530i M Sport includes BMW Iconic Glow package with fully-illuminated kidney grille frame, LED headlights and taillights, Style 938M 20-inch M light alloy wheels and an M Sport Package exterior.

Standard interior equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, BMW Interaction Bar finished in dark silver M accent , 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System with 655-watt amplifier, Merino leather upholstery and ambient lighting.

The car is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 258 horsepower and 400 Nm, a powertrain that incorporates a 48-volt mild hybrid system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox that supplies power to the back wheels.

This enables the 530i M Sport to reach a top speed of 250 km/h and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a spritely 6.2 seconds. It also boasts adaptive suspension professional, which has integrated active steering and dynamic damper control.

For safety equipment, the 530i M Sport is equipped with Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Plus and features adaptive cruise control (ACC) with stop-go function, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, front collision warning with pedestrian warning, remote 3D view, active park distance Control, and BMW Drive Recorder.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

For those motorists looking for a styling saloon with loads of status, power, and interior appointments with a sporty accent, the 530i M Sport could be for you. Boasting one of BMW’s most modest grilles—in the age of grille-o-mania in which many brands are enlarging their grilles, the 530i remains somewhat subtle.
