GWM Malaysia Cuts Prices For Ora Good Cat EV

Prices for the Ora Good Cat have been reduced in Malaysia. The 400 Pro and 500 Ultra models of the Good Cat now start at RM113,800 and RM143,800, respectively, according to updated sticker prices released by GWM Malaysia. This is a significant RM26,000 price reduction for both models.

As previously stated, the Ora Good Cat in Malaysia is protected by three warranties that include a five-year/150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, an eight-year/180,000-kilometer battery warranty, and an eight-year/180,000-kilometer warranty for the electric motor and control unit.

The Good Cat comes in a Coral Blue colour.

In contrast, however, the free home charger and the five times free service offer, which were previously offered, are no longer available.

The latter, however, is a part of a brand-new Purr-fect Raya Deal that, for all new registrations made between now and April 30, 2024, includes a free three-pin portable charger and home wall box charger.

“With the new selling price, we strongly believe Ora Good Cat will become one of the best value EVs, especially within the price range of RM 120,000,” stated Mike Cui An Qi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, in response to the new pricing. He added that customers looking for a stylish and reasonably priced EV with cutting-edge technology and good performance may now do so thanks to this pricing strategy.

The price reduction is most likely the result of fresh competition from the BYD Dolphin BYD Dolphin and Neta V, priced from RM100,530 and RM100,000 respectively.

As a show of gratitude to Good Cat owners, GWM Malaysia will also be offering an additional two-year warranty coverage of up to 150,000 km, with an additional five-year/75,000 km free maintenance package that includes parts and labour costs.

GWM Malaysia said the gesture highlights its dedication to customer loyalty as a way of honouring the faith and support that the brand’s current owners have placed in it.

For the record, there are two Ora Good Cat models available in Malaysia—the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra. The 400 Pro has a 47.8 kWh battery pack with a NEDC-rated range of 400 km, whereas the 500 Pro has a bigger 63.1 kWh pack for a 500 km (NEDC) driving range.

In keeping with its eye-catching exterior design, the Ora Good Cat is now available in a distinctive Pistachio Green colour choice with complementary inside colours.
