Haval H6 HEV Goes On Sale In Malaysia Starting From RM145,000

Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia revealed recently that the highly anticipated Haval H6 HEV has just gone on sale in the country and that C-segment rivals needed to stand up and pay attention. The high-en ad “Ultra” version is scheduled for release with an expected list price of less than RM145,000.

The H6 HEV dimensions are 1,724 mm tall, 1,886 mm wide, and 4,683 mm long with a wheelbase that’s significantly longer than the Proton X70’s, measuring 2,738 mm.

The Haval H6 HEV, which has been here since the Malaysia Autoshow 2022, has a relatively typical appearance for a Chinese SUV thanks to its aggressive headlamps and bold, big grille, which appear to have been inspired by European brands. The H6’s third brake light which has a quadruple light configuration, is arguably the most distinctive external element of the whole car.

As its name implies, the H6 HEV’s core is a full hybrid system (HEV) that includes a special dedicated hybrid gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine and DHT make up the HEV powertrain, which has a maximum system output of 243 hp and 500 Nm.

Haval tell us that the DHT “is a highly integrated, high-efficiency, multi-mode petrol-electric hybrid system with dual-motor hybrid technology to achieve a flexible, all-scenario perfect balance between good efficiency and high performance.”

The H6’s interior comes in two colours— bright for the “Ultra” variation and black for the “Pro” model. Each have a two-tone layout. The H6 HEV’s interior boasts a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen head unit. Additionally, a wireless phone charger is included.

GWM Malaysia is offering a special promotion deal for buyers who book the H6 HEV before the official debut. This package includes RM 3,000 in exclusive value with a RM 1,000 booking fee, 10 years or 1,000,000 km engine warranty (whichever comes first), entitled to an 8 year or 1,000,000 km HEV system warranty (whichever comes first), including Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), High Voltage Battery & Cable, and Transmission Control Unit.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

That pre-launch special promotional offer sounds pretty good. RM3,000 in exclusive value (whatever that means!), 1 million km of warranty, and another 1 million kms of warranty on the hybrid system could generate significant showroom traffic in the early months.
