Here’s What To Expect At CES 2025

Cars have pushed their way onto the main stage at CES more and more over the last ten years. CES 2025 will feature the newest in futuristic electric vehicles and transportation innovations, making EVs one of the hottest tech categories.

BMW Unveils New iDrive Display

This year, several leading manufacturers will be present at CES once more, showcasing anything from new electric vehicles to improvements to infotainment systems. BMW will introduce its Panoramic iDrive display, featuring an all-new infotainment system which will be employed in its future models in late 2025. From what we are hearing, it’s likely to be a variant of the panoramic display first seen in the Neue Klasse X concept car.

Meanwhile, Hyundai will showcase the first full-windshield display in history, which will extend from the driver’s seat to the front passenger seat. Hyundai Mobis – parts maker for the Korean brand, will be demonstrating a new type of holographic display which can project information across the entire width of the windscreen. It can show navigation directions, safety information and even has a feature that can alleviate motion sickness in passengers.

With Sony reportedly showcasing the Sony-Honda Afeela automobile with an integrated PS5, traditional IT businesses are also vying for a piece of the auto industry. Honda also announced that it would unveil two new EV prototypes at CES, and from what the brand’s teaser images revealed, we can see a space-age style SUV with a rather small rear window. These cars represent the next models on the Honda 0 (Zero) Series, coming to the globals market in 2026. Honda will also introduce a new proprietary vehicle operating system that will be applied to all 0 models

Chip manufacturers like Qualcomm, which will probably have updates of their own to share during the conference, power a large portion of the next-generation automotive technology.

In an exclusive keynote address, Waymo, a company that recently announced the international expansion of its autonomous vehicles to Tokyo, will discuss its future plans for the mobility sector.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

As we can see, CES is quickly becoming THE show at which carmakers wish to debut their latest automotive tech and new models. While other major car shows, like Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris, New York and Los Angeles are losing popularity and their pull factor, CES generates the highest media coverage and viewership as it covers all new tech including games.
