Michelin Debuts Three New Motorcycle Tires In Malaysia

For motorbike owners looking for new rubber, listen up. French tire maker Michelin has just debuted three new motorcycle tires in Malaysia—Power 6, Michelin Power GP 2, and Michelin Anakee Road.

The Power 6 is suitable for motorcycles over 300 cc and comes in a variety of sizes. Costing between RM1,300 and RM1,700, the new tire delivers superb grip and sporty handling in both wet and dry situations.

Although it was designed for the race track, the Michelin Power GP 2 is now certified for use on public roads.

Developed by Michelin race engineers who boast over 400 wins in MotoGP, the Power GP 2 sells for between RM1,020 and RM2,000 per set in Malaysia. These tyres are tailored for owners of super sports bikes, especially for those with engines over 600 cc. The manufacturer claims the tyre offers enhanced grip on both wet and dry surfaces, which marks a big leap forward for handling on Malaysian road conditions.

Meanwhile, the third tyre of the new bunch is the Michelin Anakee Road which costs between RM1,300 and RM1,700 in Malaysian showrooms. It is an on-road tyre with a 90/10 ratio for both on- and off-road use, made especially for trail motorcycles. Sounding very much like the name of Luke Skywalker’s father, the Anakee Road tyre, as its name implies, combines the qualities of the Anakee (meaning innovation and courage) and Road tyre lines in an effort to meet all trail motorcycle usage and customer requirements.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

With its new sports tyre lineup, Michelin seems to have every motorcycle enthusiast covered in terms of tyres. And having been developed by none other than the company’s race engineers, who are responsible for over 400 MotoGP wins, well, you can’t really argue with the performance and handling of these new sets of rubber.
