More Power, Tech in Store for 2024 Genesis G70

Genesis revealed pricing for the enhanced 2024 G70 sport sedan, which starts at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $41,500.

The award-winning G70 returns for 2024 with a focus on more agile driving performance, upgraded braking capabilities and improvements to the interior cabin.

Two powertrain options will be offered: a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower. The base G70 2.5T model comes standard with safety features like forward collision avoidance and lane keeping assist, as well as convenience items like a 10.25-inch navigation system.

Newly added features for 2024 include a touch-screen climate control display and frameless rearview mirror. Genesis also upgraded designs and details throughout the cabin, including the switchgear, air vents and center console.

The G70 adds compatibility with the Genesis Digital Key 2, which can be paired with smartphones and smartwatches. The tech allows drivers to unlock and start their vehicles while also customizing preferences that are automatically loaded.

Exterior color options are expanded with two new hues inspired by Iceland and Indonesia: Vatna Gray and Kawah Blue. Inside, Obsidian Black can be paired with either Fog Gray or Vanilla Beige two-tone leather upholstery.

The step-up 3.3T Sport Advanced model starts at $49,950 and gains features like ventilated front seats, a Lexicon Premium Audio system, dark chrome exterior accents and a power sunroof. Optional equipment includes items like an electronically controlled suspension, nappa leather seats, surround view camera and a head-up display.

Genesis said the updated G70 will begin arriving at its U.S. retailers over the coming weeks.

Our Thoughts

While beautiful and luxuriously appointed inside, the G70 suffers from rather lackluster fuel economy ratings of just 21 mpg city and 29 highway. Buyers wanting better efficiency should cross shop options like the 44 mpg Lexus ES hybrid.
