New 2025 BMW M4 CS: Specs, Prices, Photos of 543 HP Track Monster

BMW’s legendary M division has just unveiled its latest ultimate driving machine – the 2025 M4 CS. Positioned above the already potent M4 Competition xDrive model, the new CS takes the high-performance coupe to an even higher level with more power, less weight and optimized aerodynamics for track work.

At the heart of the M4 CS beats an uprated version of BMW’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six cylinder engine. Output has been bumped up to 543 horsepower – a 20 hp increase over the M4 Competition.

Peak torque remains a stout 479 lb-ft. When coupled with BMW’s quick-shifting 8-speed M Steptronic transmission and intelligent M xDrive all-wheel drive system, the M4 CS can rip from 0-60 mph in an estimated 3.2 seconds on its way to an electronically governed 188 mph top speed.

However, the M4 CS is about much more than just straight-line acceleration. BMW has comprehensively upgraded the drivetrain, chassis and aerodynamics drawing on expertise from its motorsports programs.

The suspension, brakes, steering, differential and stability control systems have all been retuned and optimized for maximum track performance. Extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic helps reduce weight by 77 lbs versus the M4 Competition.

The M4 CS’s race-bred capability is also evidenced by its aggressive yet functional styling. A carbon fiber hood, front splitter, rear diffuser and prominent rear spoiler provide added downforce at speed.

Exclusive paint colors like Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green metallic highlight the CFRP elements. Inside, the M4 CS features heavily bolstered M Carbon bucket seats, Alcantara trim and a generous helping of exposed carbon fiber.

Set to make its global debut at endurance races in the US and Europe on May 10th, the 2025 BMW M4 CS will arrive in showrooms in late 2024 carrying a base price of $123,500. With its purposeful upgrades and limited production, the M4 CS is shaping up to be one of BMW’s most exhilarating driver’s cars to date.

Carlist Thoughts

The new M4 CS looks like an absolute monster and I’m absolutely loving BMW M’s latest special edition model. With its racy styling, generous carbon fiber diet, and a nice power bump, the M4 CS seems perfectly positioned to be an engaging weekend track toy or a thrilling canyon carver.

However, I do wonder if the $123,500 base price is a bit steep considering many EVs will satisfy the thrill at lower cost. That said, for hardcore BMW enthusiasts who want the ultimate in performance and exclusivity, the 2025 M4 CS is shaping up to be an enticing package.
