New Fully Electric MINI Aceman Debuts In Malaysia

MINI Malaysia has just announced that the country’s first-ever MINI Aceman is now available under the “SE” designation. Costing RM221,288 on the road, the Aceman joins the Countryman and MINI Cooper EVs as part of MINI Malaysia’s all-electric lineup.

In terms of size, the Aceman sits in between the MINI Cooper and Countryman boasting dimensions of 4079mm in length, 1,754 mm in width, and 1,514 mm in height. As a result, the Aceman is shorter and slimmer than the Countryman but 218 mm longer than the MINI Cooper.

The Aceman’s front wheels are powered by a single electric motor that produces 218 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque, just like the MINI Cooper SE. It takes 7.1 seconds to jump from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h.

MINI Aceman

Aceman can charge from 10-80% in 30 minutes

Its 54 kWh battery has a range of up to 406 km, according to the WLTP range test—but in the real world we can expect that number to dive by around 12-15%. The Aceman can be charged from 10% to 80% charge in under 30 minutes thanks to its 95 kW DC charging capabilities. In Malaysia, an 11 kW on-board AC charger comes as standard.

The MINI Aceman’s design is similar to that of the scaled-down Countryman, but takes on a more elegant and less rugged look. While the nose section of the Aceman may look similar to the Countryman at first glance, its headlights are bespoke and unique. This distinctive styling runs through to the rear of the car, highlighted by the matrix-style LED tail lights.

The Aceman’s interior is a sleek, contemporary cabin that reinterprets MINI’s distinctive design, which is also present in the Cooper and Countryman. The dashboard’s focal point is a circular infotainment screen that employs a row of physical buttons beneath the screen that offers simple control over key features like ignition, gear selection, and audio volume.

Standard interior equipment includes a sports steering wheel, electronically adjustable drivers and passenger seats, John Cooper Works sports seats, a head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, a heated steering wheel, a tyre pressure monitor (TPMS), an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and MINI Experience driving modes.

Lane departure warning (LDW), front collision warning (FCW), automated emergency braking (AEB), and speed limit information are among the safety features that the MINI Aceman will come with when it arrives in Malaysia. An additional “unlock fee” will be needed to purchase a more sophisticated kit that incorporates Level 2 SAE semi-autonomous driving capabilities via the MINI Connected Drive shop. Among these characteristics are active cruise control (ACC), lane keeping assist (LKA), and traffic jam assist (TJA).

The Extended Warranty & servicing Package, which comes with a four-year unlimited mileage warranty, four year free scheduled servicing, and five years of free roadside assistance, is included in the previously mentioned RM221,288 price.

If you would rather, MINI Malaysia will also sell the Aceman for RM213,888 with just the regular two-year factory. Additionally, a MINI wallbox is for sale for RM4891.05.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

If you’re looking for an EV with loads of personality and bespoke design, you can’t go wrong with the MINI Aceman. Offering nearly 400km of range (in the real world), plus competitive quick-charge functions and loads of advanced safety tech, the Aceman will be hard to ignore at RM221K.
