New Honda HR-V Arrives In Thailand, Soon Headed For Malaysia

Honda’s popular SUV has just got a major facelift. The newly updated Honda HR-V was revealed in Thailand two months after it debuted globally. All three models (E, EL, and RS) of this revised B-segment SUV have a number of new features in addition to an improved exterior look. And we can expect to see it in Malaysia very soon.

The standard E variant is available for a limited introductory period until January 1st, 2025, for THB 899,999 (about RM 115,000), and then it will revert to THB 949,900 or RM 121,000. The range-topping RS variant will cost THB 1.18 million (about RM 150,000), while the EL variant starts at THB 1.08 million (approximately RM 138,000).

With a slightly revised appearance, the RS variation has a sporty chrome grille that is distinctive to the variant, while the E and EL specs now have a body-colored grille. A new 18-inch alloy wheel design and a revamped full-width LED taillight bar have also been added to the RS. In addition, a two-tone black roof and a new Khaki Sand hue are included.

The wrap-around centre console has been modified with all variations now boasting an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It also has one USB port in the front and three USB-C ports while the driver instrument cluster now gets a seven-inch TFT display and a brake light display.

In Thailand, the HR-V may only be purchased with Honda‘s e:HEV hybrid drivetrain that consists of a 1.5-litre four-cylinder normally aspirated engine that produces 106 horsepower and 127 Nm. It also employs an electric motor that produces 131 horsepower and 253 Nm, and a 1.0 kWh lithium-ion battery with an E-CVT transmission delivering power to the front wheels.

All variants of the Thai-spec Honda HR-V come with the Honda Sensing suite of safety features as standard, which includes, collision mitigation braking system, Lane keeping assist (LKA), road departure mitigation system with lane departure warning (RDM with LDW), auto high-beam, adaptive cruise control (ACC), and low-speed follow (LSF).

Get ready because this SUV is destined for Malaysia by early next year. The HR-V is a big favorite with SUV fans and now with its new looks, upgraded interior and features and tweaked powertrain, the revised HR-V has the mettle to draw clients into Honda showrooms across the country.
