New Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride Is Open For Bookings In Malaysia

Bookings for the 2025 Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4×2 have just opened in Malaysia. Isuzu Malaysia tells us that the workhorse-focused, low-riding version of this well-liked pickup truck will specifically target business owners. It is expected that deliveries of the new model will begin next month.

The new Low-Ride 4×2 MT variation, which costs RM92,199 on-road is currently the most economical model in the Isuzu D-Max lineup. It is even less expensive than the 1.9L Single Cab 4×4 MT, and it still has a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty.

The standard D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab and the new D-Max Low-Ride share similarities including a six-speed manual transmission and a 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

D-Max Covers 2000 kms on one tank

This is the same powertrain that recently set a record in the Malaysia Book of Records. Given the task of driving over 2,004 km, the vehicle managed the feat on a single 76-litre tank of gas during the 2024 Dura-Miles Fuel Efficiency Run from Thailand to Malaysia.

The main difference between the two, as indicated by their full variant titles, is that the new Low-Ride model has a two-wheel drive powertrain layout rather than the single-cab’s four-wheel drive system, which may be useful in some particular scenarios.

According to Isuzu Malaysia, the primary function of the new Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride is to transport personnel, freight, and equipment for on-site services. Up to five people can be comfortably seated in the cabin, and loading and unloading large items is made easy by the load deck, which is 78 cm above the ground.

Don’t expect a huge colour choice though as Splash White is the only hue available for the new Low-Ride version, just like the single-cab. However, you will at least get alloy wheels instead of the Single Cab’s steel ones and appropriately painted bumpers instead of black ones.

On the inside, the D-Max Low-Ride has all the essentials for business use including fabric seats, a single-DIN Bluetooth-enabled entertainment system, tilt and telescopic steering column adjustment, central locking, and electronically adjustable side mirrors are all included with the pickup truck.

The D-Max Low-Ride in Malaysia also has airbags, traction control system (TCS), hill start assist (HSA), anti-lock brake system (ABS), brake assist (BA), and other safety features that earned it the top five-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

For this price, and with those specs and durability, the new D-Max Low-Ride must have many business owners salivating all over the country. The turbo offers plenty of bottom end torque while the significant fuel efficiency has been proved with its Malaysia Book of Records.
