One HP For $100? New Dodge Charger Scat Pack Pumps Out 550 HP For $55,000

The all-new Dodge Charger Scat Pack is powered by the SIXPACK twin-turbo straight-six engine pumping out a healthy 550-hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. And it’s priced at just $54,995.

Translated, that means the Charger you’re buying delivers 1-hp for every $100 you’re paying. And to be honest, there are very few cars on the roads that offer such affordable performance. Yes, 550-hp for $55,000!

I seem to remember a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, around a decade ago, that offered an even more appealing 1-hp for $100 combination—a 707-hp Hellcat packing a supercharged 6.2L V8 for $66,990. At the time, no other car on the planet offered such horsepower for so little money.

Now, Dodge is back with a car just as appealing and very reasonably priced.

The new Charger offers AWD

So, who said internal combustion was dead? Not Dodge, that’s for sure. The brand has engineered a powerhouse to continue the evolution of modern muscle with uncompromising performance, relentless power, and unmistakable Dodge attitude.

Quick off the line with standard all-wheel-drive (AWD), the new award-winning SIXPACK-powered high-output 3.0-liter Hurricane Twin Turbo I-6 engine pumps out 550-horsepower, with 531 lb.-ft. of torque, and clocks a 3.9-second 0-60 time while running the quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. Dodge’s newest muscle car made its official public debut with Dodge smoke and fury in downtown Pontiac, Michigan, last week to kick off the 10th anniversary of Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge.

“For 60 years, Dodge Charger has been known for delivering legendary muscle car performance, and we have every intention of continuing that legacy,” said Dodge CEO Matt McAlear. “This next-generation Charger lineup delivers the most horsepower and most torque of any muscle car in its class, the widest body of any car in the industry, an award-winning interior, and, perhaps most important, what our customers have told us they want: the power to choose what fuels them. The all-new turbocharged 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Pack is the most powerful car customers can buy priced less than $55,000.”

CARLIST THOUGHTS

Back in 1998, this writer once bought a Subaru Legacy B4 sedan packing a 280-hp twin-turbo 2.0-liter boxer engine — and it cost less than $28,000. So I know what it feels like to buy 1-hp for under $100. It feels good, and every time you put your foot down, you feel the power and the value. Now, back to the Charger. For anyone who doesn’t need the Scat Pack’s 550hp, Dodge is also offering the 420-horsepower 2026 Dodge Charger R/T that will be available at a starting U.S. MSRP of $49,995. And if you want to get away from ICE power and go all-electric, then there’s the two-door 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which delivers its full 670-horsepower at a starting U.S. MSRP of $59,995. Now that’s good value!
