Polestar and GeoGuessr Launch New Version Of Popular Game

Have you heard of GeoGuessr? Well, it seems to be making a big splash with Polestar, the Swedish electric performance brand, who has launched its own version of the global gaming hit GeoGuessr.

The geolocation-based game GeoGuessr challenges millions of players to pin-point real-world locations using only visual clues. So what is GeoGuessr? It is a browser-based geography game where players are placed in a random location on Google Street View and must guess where they are in the world by examining clues in the surrounding environment, such as street signs, vegetation, architecture, and road markings. Players earn points based on the proximity of their guess to the actual location, with options to play solo or compete against others in various single-player and multiplayer modes. 

In the new GeoGuessr Polestar edition, players explore Europe’s best driving roads – with a unique twist: the game includes Polestar 4’s digital rear-view mirror at the top of the screen, showing the world in reverse.

To mark the launch, Polestar and GeoGuessr are kicking off a Europe-wide competition alongside the 2025 GeoGuessr World Championship Finals in Copenhagen. The winner will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Polestar’s HQ in Gothenburg, including a full test track day with a professional racing driver.

GeoGuessr Polestar edition is now available on mobile, desktop, and in all Polestar cars via the in-car browser, joining the brand’s growing line-up of digital experiences.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

As someone who rarely plays TV games, except maybe an hour session on the driving simulator and the world’s biggest-selling driving game Gran Turismo, I must say that I have never played GeoGuessr. But from what I’m seeing in this story, it certainly sounds fascinating as I too am interested in exploration, having visited over 30 countries. But this new game now exists on mobile, desktop and in Polestar cars making it arguably the most accessible game ever.
