Polestar 3 has been awarded Euro NCAP’s Best in Class award for safest Executive Car of 2025, reinforcing its position as a safety benchmark in its class. This accolade affirms Polestar’s commitment to protecting occupants and road users through cutting-edge engineering and advanced safety technologies.

Polestar is jointly owned by China’s Geely Holding, Volvo Cars, and public shareholders, though ownership structures have shifted, with Geely becoming the majority stakeholder and Volvo reducing its stake significantly as Polestar operates as a distinct electric vehicle brand within the Geely ecosystem. It started as Volvo’s performance division, was acquired by Volvo in 2015, and relaunched as a standalone EV brand in 2017 under Geely’s broader ownership.
This NCAP award follows the April 2025 announcement when Polestar 3 achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating and 87% score overall in the then latest round of safety tests. The brand’s flagship SUV impressed with remarkable scores of 90% for adult occupant protection, 93% for child occupant protection – at that point the highest score of any passenger car tested by Euro NCAP in the past nine years – 79% for vulnerable road users, and 83% for safety assist.
At the time, Euro NCAP praised Polestar 3 for setting “a new standard for child safety”, with performance “tantalisingly close to a perfect score.”
Gerry Yang, Polestar CTO, says: “Safety is a central part of our DNA thanks to our close collaboration with Volvo Cars. Polestar 3 incorporates among the latest advanced structural innovations and advanced driver assistance systems, which all played a part in delivering the exceptional test results we have seen here.”
Polestar 3 is the third model in the brand’s line-up, together with Polestar 2 and Polestar 4, to have undergone testing and received top honours by Euro NCAP.
