Xiaomi Reveals Details on Upcoming SU7 Electric Vehicles

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has revealed specifications and details on its upcoming SU7 and SU7 Max electric vehicles. Key highlights of the rear-wheel drive SU7 and all-wheel drive dual motor SU7 Max include:

  • Impressive acceleration, with 0-100km/h times of 5.28 seconds for the SU7 and 2.78 seconds for the higher-powered SU7 Max
  • Generous driving ranges of 668km on a single charge for the SU7 and 800km for the Max
  • Top speeds of 210km/h and 265km/h respectively
  • Powerful electric motors putting out 299PS for the SU7 and a blistering 673PS for the SU7 Max

The SU7 models boast ultra-fast charging capabilities, with a 101kWh CATL battery pack allowing 220km of range from just 5 minutes of charging. A full charge can be achieved in 15 minutes.

While no availability or pricing details were provided, Xiaomi stated the vehicles would not come cheap. The company appears confident it can achieve a leading position in smart electric vehicles by 2024.

Our Thoughts

On paper, the specifications of the Xiaomi SU7 EVs seem super impressive. However, I will want to see these claims validated in real-world conditions before passing final judgment. Tons of promises here. Still, the models showcase Xiaomi’s ambitions in pushing innovation for electric vehicles powered by smart technology.
