Mercedes EQE 350+ SUV Debuts In Malaysia With 596km Range

In addition to the Electric Art Line launched last week, one extra new EQE SUV version has just been added to the brand’s lineup by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia—the EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line. The starting price for both models is RM398,888. They now accompany the EQE SUV 500 4MATIC, which debuted in Malaysia at the end of the previous year and they are the EQE 350+ SUV (EA) from RM398,888 and the EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line starting at RM448,888.

The EQE 350+ SUV lineup in Malaysia comes equipped with flush door handles, LED taillights, and the brand’s Digital Light matrix LED headlights as standard exterior elements. Standard equipment also includes the Mercedes-Benz star-adorned radiator grille. Below are the standard exterior features included with the 350+ SUV in Malaysia. These include Digital Light LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, LED taillights, flush door handles, 19-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, and radiator grille with Mercedes-Benz pattern.

If you choose the EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line you get the AMG Line exterior package with 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

The EQE 350+ SUV in Malaysia is powered by a single rear-mounted motor that generates 292 horsepower and 565 Nm. Standard AC charging for both models is 22 kW, while DC charging can reach up to 170 kW in maximum capacity. Nevertheless, the more expensive EQE 350+ SUV AMG Line is the sole vehicle that has rear-axle steering and AIRMATIC air suspension.

The car has a top speed of 210 km/h from a battery boasting 90.56 kWh and 596 km (WLTP) of range—so in the real world, expect around 500km.

As far as its maximum AC charging rate is concerned, expect a 0-100% charge to take 4 hours 45 minutes at 22kW, while at 170 kW the DC charging time (10-80%) is 32 minutes.

Inside the Malaysian-spec EQE 350+ SUV, you get standard fare such as the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display, 12.8-inch central display, and the brand’s signature ambient lighting system. The front seats are both powered and employ a memory function.

Safety-wise, the EQE 350+ SUV in Malaysia gets the brand’s active safety features as standard while also employing Driving Assistance package Plus, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, and Active Lane Keeping Assist.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

This is the EQE that electric fans have been waiting for. With its smart looks, competitive range and price and top quality interior, this should generate extra customer traffic to Mercedes showrooms.
