It takes 4.7 seconds to jump from 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 180 km/h. The onboard 82 kWh battery is still the same size, but its range has slightly improved from 550 km to 554 km (WLTP).

The Android Automotive infotainment system powers the infotainment system however, an over-the-air software upgrade should improve it to match Volvo Car’s user experience. It’s unclear at present if the model in Malaysia would include Qualcomm’s most recent Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, which was unveiled globally earlier this year.

The EC40 costs RM288,888 and comes in one configuration. A five-year free Volvo service plan and five years of free digital services, including easy access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play Store, and remote functions through the Volvo Cars App, are included in the price.
