New BMW iX3 Final Edition Debuts In Malaysia

BMW expands its fully electric range in Malaysia with the launch of the iX3 Final Edition. Based on the iX3 “Impressive” version, this model costs RM319,600 (which also includes a 5-year extended warranty and service package).

Compared to the ordinary Impressive model, which costs RM349,600, this Final Edition comes in some RM30,000 less expensive. In fact, this model, if its name is any guide, may be the SUV’s final offering before the Neue Klasse-based iX3 of the upcoming generation arrives.

The Malaysian-spec iX3 Final Edition has more aggressive bodywork boasting the M Sport Package which now comes with extra M Performance accessories such an M Performance rear spoiler and carbon fibre mirror caps.

The Final Edition also comes with standard equipment including BMW Laserlight LED headlights, LED taillights, an M Sport Package, M Performance carbon mirror caps, M Performance carbon fibre door sill, M Performance rear spoiler, and 20-inch 890 M Bicolour M aerodynamic wheels.

Powering the iX3 Final Edition in Malaysia is the German carmaker’s fifth-generation eDrive technology featuring a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup. Its power output is rated at 286 hp and 400 Nm and can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, and employs an 80 kWh battery that the manufacturer claims delivers up to 461 km (WLTP), although real-world range would be closer to 400km. The carmaker also claims that the SUV will charge from 0-100% on AC in 32 minutes.

Inside, the iX3 Final Edition in Malaysia gets standard equipment such as a panoramic glass roof, tri-zone automatic air conditioning, Harman Kardon surround sound system, and a head-up display (HUD). Customers also have two interior trims to choose from, namely leather Vernasca Mocha with Décor Stitching or leather Vernasca Black with Blue Contrast Stitching.

In the safety department, the iX3 Final Edition gets the brand’s Driving Assistant Professional systems and Parking Assistant Plus safety suites as standard. These features include Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go functionality, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Evasion Assistant, Speed Limit Assist, Acoustic protection for pedestrians, Reversing Assist, and Active Park Distance Control (PDC).

Included with the iX3 Final Edition’s price tag is BMW Group Malaysia’s Premium Ownership Experience worth RM19,800. This package includes a 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service programme, a BMW 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty, BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline and BMW Service Online.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

Those looking to buy the latest electric SUV from BMW will just at the chance to get into this Final Edition as it offers range of around 400kms, sporty M-flavoured accessories, a heap of safety features, and a luxurious interior that delivers the segment’s best features including a Harman Kardon sound system—all for RM30,000 under the price of the standard model.
