Hailing from China’s megamaker Chery, the new Jetour Dashing is yet another SUV that will debut in Malaysia. Sold through Jetour Auto Malaysia, the Dashing will go on sale in April 2025.
The SUV surfaced at last year’s Malaysia Autoshow 2024 last year, when pundits got to see its 7-seater packaging for the first time.

In Malaysia, the Jetour Dashing is expected to make its debut in the fiercely competitive C-SUV market. Boasting dimensions of 4,590 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, the Dashing is somewhat taller, wider, and longer than the Jaecoo J7, which also just happens to be a Chery SUV.
Dashing to be locally assembled
As previously mentioned by Jetour International Vice President Kevin Xu, the Dashing would be locally assembled and available in two variants—Prime and Signature. The crossover employs a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine pumping out 156 horsepower and 230 Nm and is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The Dashing’s unique bodywork gives it real street presence and turns heads. It features elegant daytime running lights (DRLs) on a bold grille with headlights boasting a distinctive look as they are integrated into the front bumper.
A generous-sized 10.25-inch central display incorporates Android Auto and Apple CarPlay while a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster gives the driver all the information they need. Smartphone wireless charging slots, a chilled middle console, and rear air conditioning vents are further interior features.
As pricing is still under wraps, we will have to wait till the official launch next month. Not only will the Dashing be introduced in Malaysia, but the seven-seater SUV Jetour will also be arriving here under a different moniker.
Furthermore, Kevin Xu said at a press conference earlier this year that the company would open more than 20 service locations around the country.
CARLIST THOUGHTS
Employing a front end that looks like something from the flick Transformers, the Dashing’s sharp and futuristic styling is without doubt its biggest highlight. In fact, to stand out in a saturated market, the bodywork needs to pose to this level. While this version gets a 1.5-litre turbo, we are sure that many punters are waiting for electrification to take hold with this and other models.
