New Peugeot Landtrek Launched In Malaysia Starting At RM123,000

Peugeot has just added a cool-looking pickup truck to its Malaysian lineup. The 2024 Peugeot Landtrek, which is now locally assembled at the company’s plant in Gurun, Kedah, was recently introduced by Stellantis Malaysia. The Landtrek is now available in two models, including the brand-new Landtrek Special Edition (SE), with prices starting at RM123,000. This makes the completely imported (CBU) model is marginally less expensive than the French pickup truck by over RM4,000.

The Malaysian Landtrek SE has many new accessories fitted to the exterior. It employs black wheel arches, new taillight dampers and black Landtrek decals on the truck bed’s side.

In Malaysia, the Landtrek SE is available in two colour options—Ceramic White and Rockstone Grey. In contrast, the Landtrek Allure comes in six different colour variations. These include the model-only Olea Green as well as Ceramic White, Silver Grey, Magnetic Blue, Red Rubi, and Rockstone Grey.

Standard exterior equipment fitted to the Landtrek in Malaysia includes LED headlights, “Lion-claw” LED DRLs, fog lights, LED taillights, chrome-framed grille, 18-inch alloy wheels and sidesteps.

In Malaysia, the Landtrek is still powered by a 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine with 150 horsepower and 350 Nm with the brand’s part-time 4-wheel drive (4WD) technology sending power to all four wheels via a 6-speed Punch automated gearbox.

The standard features of the Landtrek, built for Malaysia, include a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, powered front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and rear air conditioning vents are also included.

On the safety side, the Landtrek gets eight airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDW) and a 360° camera system is also included as standard.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

This could be the most stylish pickup truck to launch here in years. Boasting chic exterior lines and proportions, a gutsy diesel turbo, advanced safety and all the mod cons inside, a price of RM123,000 may be just what the doctor ordered to accelerate traffic to showrooms.
