New Tesla Model 3 Performance Debuts In Malaysia With 460hp

Tesla’s much-anticipated Model 3 Performance model has just landed in Malaysia showrooms. Interested parties may now order the all-electric sedan for RM242,000 and pay a booking charge of RM1,000.

To highlight its performance slant, Tesla has given the Model 3 Performance several sporty exterior design elements. One of the usual accessories offered is the “Bespoke Performance Design,” which includes a carbon fibre spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a set of body modifications with a sportier appearance.

The Model 3 Performance in Malaysia is propelled by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system pumping out 460 horsepower. With this, the performance sedan can sprint from zero to 100 km/h 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 262 km/h.

Additionally, Tesla has fitted the Model 3 Performance with a custom chassis, an adaptive suspension system with adjustable dampers, and custom stabiliser bars for improved handling. Performance brake pads, bigger brake rotors, and calipers are also included with the high-performance brakes.

The Malaysian-spec Model 3 Performance has a range of up to 528 kilometres (WLTP) on a single charge, although we can expect that to fall by around 10% in the real world. Because of its increased power, this is inherently shorter than the 629 km range that the standard Long Range AWD model can achieve.

Inside the local-spec Model 3 Performance, you’ll find sports seats with improved side and cushion bolsters for improved cornering support but the same subtle spartan design. In order to keep you cool in Malaysia’s hot and muggy climate, the front seats also have ventilation.

The Performance model has a black interior and standard features, just like other Model 3 models. For RM5,000 more, you can get a white interior to contrast against the standard black. Tesla’s most recent performance sedan also now has some carbon fibre accents inside to spruce up the feel of quality.

In conclusion, the 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance can be purchased in Malaysia for RM242,000. For the car, which Tesla claims will be delivered by Q2 2024, you can forego paying the RM1,000 booking fee.

CARLIST THOUGHTS

You’d have to be a Tesla addict to pick out the aesthetic revisions with the updated model. Although a close look at the exterior reveals slight modifications to the front bumper and headlights giving the car a slicker, cleaner look altogether. As you’d expect this Performance spec is super-quick off the mark, offers exceptional range and quick charging times. I’m afraid to say folks that the Model 3 is still the pick of the bunch if you want the sportiest EV sedan out there.
