Product Placement Heaven For Volkswagen ID. Buzz In Bradley Cooper’s “Is This Thing On?”

Volkswagen of America, Inc. is pleased to highlight the all-electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz in Bradley Cooper’s new drama comedy, “Is This Thing On?” The film, directed by Cooper and starring Will Arnett and Laura Dern, has expanded to theaters nationwide.

As their marriage quietly unravels, Alex (Will Arnett) faces middle age and an impending divorce, seeking new purpose in the New York comedy scene while Tess (Laura Dern) confronts the sacrifices she made for their family—forcing them to navigate co-parenting, identity, and whether love can take a new form.

Recipient of a British Academy Film Award, 3 Grammy awards and nominated for 12 Academy Awards and 6 Golden Globes, Cooper’s films have grossed over $13 billion worldwide. He has starred in movies such as American Sniper, The A Team, A Star Is Born, American Hustle, The Hangover series, Silver Linings Playbook, and has providers the voice for a star character in the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The ID. Buzz plays a key role in the film as Alex’s trusted vehicle, which he purchases to impress his kids and accompanies him through pivotal moments as he embarks on his new chapter in life.

“The ID. Buzz fit seamlessly into the story we were telling about navigating change and rediscovering your direction,” said Bradley Cooper, Director and Producer. “It’s a vehicle that carries a sense of both nostalgia and reinvention, which mirrors the journey our characters are on.”

“As the spiritual successor to the iconic microbus, the ID. Buzz has an innate ability to put a smile on your face,” said Rachael Zaluzec, Senior Vice President, Customer Experience and Brand Marketing at Volkswagen of America. “We think it has a little bit of magic, and we were delighted that Bradley saw that spark and chose to weave it into his story.”

CARLIST THOUGHTS

If a carmaker wanted to promote their latest star vehicle, then what better way than to place it in a new movie starring an A-list actor? What VW has achieved here with the ID Buzz is nothing short of sensational and should bode well for getting the new electric van’s name out there.
