SIRIM QAS International, the certifying authority, claims in a statement that it has the knowledge and resources necessary to guarantee that EV charging stations in Malaysia are secure, dependable, and operational. Concerning the requirements for certification, SIRIM clarified that it goes beyond simply certifying producers. Installers, building contractors, auto repair shops, and experts in maintaining EV charging stations fall under this category.

“The EV industry in Malaysia will be able to advance and develop soon with our certification scheme,” stated Muhammad Kamal Sabran, head of QAS’s product certification division.

By working together, we can guarantee that EV owners will always receive safe and dependable charging experiences. This builds a culture of excellence and inspires trust in regulators, manufacturers, and consumers alike. SIRIM continued, “Malaysia is paving the path towards environmental sustainability by emphasising safety, dependability, and usefulness and by promoting electric mobility with confidence and integrity.

OUR THOUGHTS

This is a certification regime that all countries need to employ to be able to cater the the huge influx of EVs coming onto the market, as well as answering their need to infrastructure—which of course involves readily accessible charging stations that offer the best quick charging facilities in the country.
