Kia EV2 Launch Teased Prior To World Premiere In Brussels

Kia has just teased another new model—this time, an electric vehicle that will be unveiled in Europe and other select markets. The car you see above is the Kia EV2 Concept.

The Korean brand will debut the EV2, an all-electric B-segment SUV dedicated for Europe, on 9 January 2026 for media, at the Brussels Motor Show. The event in the Belgian capital will welcome the general public from 10 to 18 January 2026.

Unfortunately, the EV2 is not destined for U.S. streets due to its compact size and lower price point. These factors make the SUV better suited for urban environments outside of North America. Also, America’s controversial tariffs on a fully imported EV2 would push the car beyond the sticker price that Kia would want for such a vehicle. Instead, Kia’s compact electric offerings for the U.S. will be the EV3 and EV4.

So what does Europe have to look forward to? According to Kia PR, the EV2 “combines emotional design with modern technology and connectivity, as well as smart EV features and a roomy, adjustable space. With its eye-catching looks and appealing body type, the model’s design expresses its progressive character, perfectly exemplifying Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy.” Sounds impressive! To the extent that we cannot wait to check it out.

“With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to make electric mobility truly accessible to a broader audience – without compromise,” said Marc Hedrich, President & CEO of Kia Europe. “This compact SUV delivers the innovation and the spirit of our larger EVs while fitting seamlessly into everyday life in Europe. Designed, developed, and soon to be produced in Europe, we are confident that the EV2 will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible mobility across the region.”

On 9 January, at 10:40 (CET), media attending the Brussels Motor Show 2026 will be present at the launch of the all-electric B-segment SUV. Alongside the EV2, Kia will showcase the sporty and dynamic ‘GT’ versions of the EV3, the EV4 Hatchback, and the EV5.
